This is a page where we can add a little info about ourselves and who we are. As we're a large group of people and don't always know everyone, this will give us a good place to start. It will also give us a chance to post links to our websites, wikis, etc... so other people can utilize them. Finally, it will help us to easily network with other AT people in our direct area. So I'll start...
| Rachel Kuberry: I went to Simmons for my M.Ed. in Severe Special Ed while working at Melmark New England. After a few years as a severe special ed teacher, I realized I was using assistive tech a lot and could surely learn more. So I went back to school again... I finished the Simmon's AT program in December of 2009. I currently work as the assistive technology specialist for Lexington Public Schools. You can find my wiki here. It has many resources specifically designed for teachers within my district, but also has many general resources and links that would be beneficial to any AT professional or teacher. You can email me at rachelkuberry@gmail.com |

| Jeanette Beal: I started out in education as an academic; teaching was a secondary goal to a life of writing articles on old dead peoples' theories. Somewhere down the line however, I got wind of the Simmons AT program and jumped to a new and fascinating career path. I finished the Simmons AT program in October of 2009 while working full-time at Simmons College. Less than a year later I got a job with ALLTech, a Portland, Maine based company seeking to provide assistive technology and AAC services in Maine and Massachusetts. I primarily work in Malden Public Schools. I created a wiki for MPS and teachers in general here, with curriculum and some software-specific tech tools and tips. You can email me at jbeal@alltech-tsi.org. |
